Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Stir in the yeast and let sit for 5 minutes until bubbly.
- Add olive oil and salt to the yeast mixture. Gradually mix in the flour until a soft dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm area until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
- Punch down the dough and fold in half of the grated Asiago cheese.
- Shape into a loaf, place in a greased pan, top with remaining cheese, and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 30–35 minutes until golden brown.
