Description

  • 4 medium Granny Smith or Honeycrisp apples
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • 1/4 cup raisins or cranberries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. Core the apples, leaving the bottom intact.
  3. In a bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, nuts, and butter until crumbly.
  4. Stuff each apple with the filling mixture.
  5. Place apples in the baking dish and add 1/2 inch of water.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes until tender but not mushy.
  7. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
