Description

Baked Chicken Parmesan Casserole is a comforting and hearty dish that perfectly balances tender chicken, rich marinara sauce, and layers of gooey mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.   • 34 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs)
  • 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
  • 24 oz marinara sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil for sautéing

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. Season the chicken breasts generously with salt and pepper.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, heat a splash of olive oil and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant (about 1 minute).
  4. In a large bowl, mix the sautéed garlic with marinara sauce and dried herbs.
  5. Layer half of the seasoned chicken in the greased baking dish. Pour half of the marinara mixture over it followed by half of the mozzarella cheese. Repeat with remaining chicken, sauce, and cheese.
  6. Cover with aluminum foil (shiny side down) and bake for about 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
