  • 1 cup unsalted butter (cold)
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 68 tbsp ice water
  • 6 cups sliced apples (mixed Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms; chill for at least an hour.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out half the chilled dough into a rectangle and place it in your baking sheet.
  3. Toss sliced apples with cinnamon and sugar; let them sit while preparing the caramel sauce.
  4. Spread half of the caramel on the dough, layer apple slices evenly, then drizzle with remaining caramel.
  5. Roll out the second half of the dough and cover the filling, cutting slits for steam to escape.
  6. Bake for about 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly; cool slightly before slicing.
