Ingredients
Scale
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsalted butter (cold)
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 6–8 tbsp ice water
- 6 cups sliced apples (mixed Granny Smith and Honeycrisp)
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions
- Prepare the crust: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms; chill for at least an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out half the chilled dough into a rectangle and place it in your baking sheet.
- Toss sliced apples with cinnamon and sugar; let them sit while preparing the caramel sauce.
- Spread half of the caramel on the dough, layer apple slices evenly, then drizzle with remaining caramel.
- Roll out the second half of the dough and cover the filling, cutting slits for steam to escape.
- Bake for about 45-50 minutes until golden brown and bubbly; cool slightly before slicing.
