Description

Chinese Beef and Broccoli is a quick and delicious stir-fry that captures the essence of your favorite takeout dish in just under 30 minutes. This recipe features tender strips of beef paired with vibrant broccoli, all enveloped in a rich, savory sauce that delights the palate. Perfect for busy weeknights, this flavorful dish will have family and friends coming back for seconds!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak (thinly sliced against the grain)
  • 2 cups fresh broccoli florets
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp fresh ginger (minced)
  • 2 tbsp low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (for finishing)

Instructions

  1. Slice the beef against the grain into thin strips. Chop broccoli into bite-sized pieces, and mince the garlic and ginger.
  2. Marinate the beef by mixing it with soy sauce, cornstarch, and half of the minced garlic in a bowl for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Stir-fry the marinated beef until browned (about 3 minutes per side), working in batches if needed.
  4. Add remaining garlic, ginger, and broccoli to the skillet; stir-fry for about 5 minutes until the broccoli is bright green but still crisp.
  5. Pour in oyster sauce mixed with one tablespoon of water; stir well to combine and simmer for an additional two minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Serve over steamed rice or noodles, drizzled with sesame oil.
