Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean bowl, beat the egg whites on medium speed until frothy.
  3. Gradually add granulated sugar while mixing at high speed until stiff peaks form and the mixture is glossy (about 5-7 minutes).
  4. Gently fold in powdered sugar and vanilla extract using a spatula. Divide into bowls and mix in food coloring as desired.
  5. Transfer colored meringue into piping bags fitted with star tips, then pipe tree shapes onto prepared baking sheets.
  6. Bake for about 1 hour and 30 minutes until dry but not browned. Turn off the oven and let cool inside.
