  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon (plus more for topping)
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk (whole or your choice)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ½ cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla until smooth. Pour into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
  4. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. In a separate bowl, combine brown sugar and additional cinnamon for the topping; sprinkle half over the batter. Pour in the remaining batter and top with the rest of the brown sugar mixture.
  5. Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. For icing, mix powdered sugar with milk until smooth; drizzle over warm cake before serving.
