  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 cup plain breadcrumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • ¾ cup ketchup (divided)
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Sauté chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat until translucent (about 5 minutes).
  3. In a large bowl, mix ground beef, sautéed onion, breadcrumbs, eggs, ½ cup ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into a loaf in the prepared pan.
  5. Mix remaining ketchup with brown sugar and spread over the meatloaf.
  6. Bake for 1 hour or until internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C). Let rest before slicing.
