  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon mustard powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1. Boil pasta in salted water until al dente (about 7-9 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  2. 2. Steam broccoli in boiling water until bright green and tender-crisp (about 3-4 minutes). Drain and set aside.
  3. 3. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and whisk in flour until bubbly. Cook for about 1 minute.
  4. 4. Gradually add milk, stirring until smooth and thickened (about 3-5 minutes). Stir in cheddar cheese until melted.
  5. 5. Combine cooked macaroni, steamed broccoli, and cheese sauce in a large bowl, mixing well.
