- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 ¾ cups buttermilk
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until fully combined.
- Create a well in the dry ingredients and pour in the buttermilk and melted butter. Stir gently until just combined; lumps are okay.
- Turn the dough onto a floured surface and knead lightly for about one minute.
- Shape the dough into a round loaf about 1-2 inches thick and place it on the prepared baking sheet. Score an “X” on top with a knife.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom. Allow to cool slightly before slicing.
