Description

Eggnog Crème Brûlée is a festive twist on the traditional French dessert, blending rich custard with the warm flavors of eggnog. Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 6 large egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp freshly grated nutmeg
  • 2 tbsp rum or bourbon
  • 1 tsp pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Prepare ramekins by placing them in a baking dish.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream, nutmeg, and vanilla over medium heat until hot but not boiling.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until pale and slightly thickened.
  4. Gradually pour warm cream into the egg mixture while whisking continuously to temper the eggs.
  5. Pour the custard into ramekins, filling them three-quarters full, and place the baking dish in the oven filled with hot water.
  6. Bake for 30-35 minutes until set around the edges but still slightly jiggly in the center.
  7. Once cooled, sprinkle sugar on top of each custard and use a kitchen torch to caramelize until golden brown.
