Perfect for brunch or as a sweet dessert, they are sure to become a cherished tradition in your home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
  • 1 cup whole milk, warmed
  • 3/4 cup eggnog
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • A pinch of nutmeg
  • Powdered sugar for glazing
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm milk, flour, yeast, and granulated sugar. Mix until blended.
  2. Add eggnog, softened butter, and eggs; mix until you have a sticky dough. Let it rest for 5 minutes.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth (about 5-7 minutes). Place the dough in a greased bowl and let it rise for an hour or until doubled in size.
  4. For the filling, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl. Roll out the risen dough into a rectangle, spread with butter, then sprinkle with the filling mixture. Roll tightly and cut into 1-inch pieces.
  5. Arrange buns in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes before baking at 350°F (175°C) for about 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. Drizzle with icing made from powdered sugar and vanilla extract before serving.
