  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, ginger, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking soda, and salt; set aside.
  3. In a large bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time followed by vanilla.
  4. Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Spread batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for 20-25 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Allow to cool completely before frosting if desired.
