- 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
- ½ cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 large eggs
- ¼ cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- ¾ cup ketchup (divided)
- 1 cup canned tomato sauce
- 2 tsp dried basil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or use a loaf pan.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, eggs, parsley, garlic, and half of the ketchup. Mix gently until combined.
- Transfer the meat mixture to the prepared pan and shape it into a loaf.
- In a separate bowl, mix the tomato sauce with the remaining ketchup and basil. Spread over the meatloaf.
- Bake for about 1 hour or until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F (70°C). Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing.
