- 9 no-boil lasagna noodles
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 2 cups whole milk ricotta cheese
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups canned tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain fat, add garlic and tomato sauce, and simmer for 10 minutes.
- In a bowl, combine ricotta, basil, half of the mozzarella, salt, and pepper.
- Spread a layer of meat sauce in the baking dish. Layer with three noodles, half the ricotta mixture, and more meat sauce. Repeat layers until ingredients are used.
- Finish with remaining noodles topped with meat sauce and sprinkle all remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
- Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
