  • 9 no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 2 cups whole milk ricotta cheese
  • 3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups canned tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Prepare a baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain fat, add garlic and tomato sauce, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, combine ricotta, basil, half of the mozzarella, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spread a layer of meat sauce in the baking dish. Layer with three noodles, half the ricotta mixture, and more meat sauce. Repeat layers until ingredients are used.
  5. Finish with remaining noodles topped with meat sauce and sprinkle all remaining mozzarella and Parmesan on top.
  6. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Let cool slightly before serving.
