- 12 oz ziti pasta
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 15 oz whole milk ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb ground beef or sausage (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Cook ziti in salted boiling water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté chopped onions until softened. If using meat, brown it until no longer pink.
- Stir marinara sauce into the skillet. In a separate bowl, mix ricotta cheese with salt and pepper until creamy.
- In a baking dish, layer pasta, ricotta mixture, marinara sauce, and mozzarella cheese until all ingredients are used.
- Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes; uncover and bake an additional 10-15 minutes until golden brown.
