  • 1 package (17.3 oz) puff pastry sheets (2 sheets), thawed
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon water (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. 2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
  3. 3. Place half of the heart cutouts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spoon approximately 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips onto each heart, leaving space around the edges.
  4. 4. Top each filled heart with another heart cutout and press down the edges firmly with a fork to seal.
  5. 5. Whisk together the egg and water for the egg wash, then brush it over each pastry.
  6. 6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
  7. 7. Remove from the oven and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
