Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into heart shapes using a cookie cutter.
- 3. Place half of the heart cutouts on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spoon approximately 1 tablespoon of chocolate chips onto each heart, leaving space around the edges.
- 4. Top each filled heart with another heart cutout and press down the edges firmly with a fork to seal.
- 5. Whisk together the egg and water for the egg wash, then brush it over each pastry.
- 6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown and puffed up.
- 7. Remove from the oven and dust with powdered sugar before serving.
