  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the pumpkin puree, granulated sugar, brown sugar, oil (or melted butter), and eggs until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and fold gently until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Allow bars to cool completely on a wire rack before preparing the frosting.
  7. For the frosting, beat the softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until creamy and smooth. Spread over cooled bars.
