  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Royal icing (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In a separate bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing in the vanilla extract until combined.
  4. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets about two inches apart.
  6. Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden. Allow cooling on the sheets for five minutes before transferring to wire racks.
