  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tbsp melted butter (cooled)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, granulated sugar, and brown sugar.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, eggs, apple cider, vanilla extract, and applesauce until smooth.
  4. Combine wet and dry ingredients gently until just mixed.
  5. Fill each cavity of the donut pan two-thirds full.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
