  • 14 oz firm or extra-firm tofu
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. Drain and press the tofu between paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut into 1-inch cubes.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, garlic powder, ginger powder, sesame oil, and lemon juice. Toss tofu cubes in the marinade for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Sprinkle cornstarch over marinated tofu and toss gently until coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  5. Fry tofu in batches for 3-5 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
