Description

  • 1 (8-inch) Vanilla Sponge Cake
  • 1 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
  • 1 cup Evaporated Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream
  • 2 tbsp Sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 2 cups Fresh Berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, beat eggs and sugar until fluffy (about 5 minutes). Pour batter into prepared dish and bake until golden.
  3. While cooling, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
  4. Once the cake is cool, cut it into squares and layer half at the bottom of a trifle dish.
  5. Pour half of the milk mixture over the cake squares to soak.
  6. In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream with sugar until soft peaks form.
  7. Spread half of the whipped cream over soaked cake and add a generous handful of fresh berries. Repeat layers with remaining cake, milk mixture, whipped cream, and berries.
  8. Chill for at least an hour before serving.
