- 1 (8-inch) Vanilla Sponge Cake
- 1 cup Sweetened Condensed Milk
- 1 cup Evaporated Milk
- 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 2 tbsp Sugar (adjust to taste)
- 2 cups Fresh Berries (strawberries, blueberries, raspberries)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, beat eggs and sugar until fluffy (about 5 minutes). Pour batter into prepared dish and bake until golden.
- While cooling, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract in another bowl.
- Once the cake is cool, cut it into squares and layer half at the bottom of a trifle dish.
- Pour half of the milk mixture over the cake squares to soak.
- In a separate bowl, whip heavy cream with sugar until soft peaks form.
- Spread half of the whipped cream over soaked cake and add a generous handful of fresh berries. Repeat layers with remaining cake, milk mixture, whipped cream, and berries.
- Chill for at least an hour before serving.
