Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz squid ink pasta
  • 1 lb large fresh shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, add squid ink pasta and cook until al dente (about 8-10 minutes). Drain while reserving some pasta water.
  2. Sauté Garlic and Shrimp: In a skillet over medium heat, warm olive oil until shimmering. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add shrimp and cook until pink and opaque (about 3-4 minutes).
  3. Add Seasonings: Stir in red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper to enhance the flavors.
  4. Combine: Toss cooked squid ink pasta into the skillet with the shrimp mixture. Add reserved pasta water gradually while tossing everything together for about 1-2 minutes until fully combined.
  5. Finish: Remove from heat, stir in chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
