In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of filtered water to a boil over medium heat. This will extract the flavors from the tea and spices.
Once boiling, add 4 teaspoons of black tea leaves (or 4 tea bags) along with the ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground cardamom, and ground cloves. Stir to combine.
Reduce the heat to low and let the mixture simmer for 10 minutes. This allows the spices to infuse their flavors into the tea.
After 10 minutes, remove the saucepan from heat and stir in 1/2 cup of sugar until fully dissolved. Taste and adjust sweetness if desired.
Strain the chai concentrate through a fine mesh strainer into a bowl or pitcher to remove the tea leaves and spices. Allow it to cool to room temperature.
Assemble the Iced Chai Tea Latte
Fill 4 glasses with ice cubes, about 1 cup of ice per glass. This will chill the chai concentrate quickly.
Pour 1 cup of the cooled chai concentrate into each glass over the ice.
Add 1/4 cup of milk to each glass, adjusting the amount based on your preference for creaminess.
Stir gently with a spoon or straw to combine the chai and milk.
If desired, top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon for an extra indulgent touch.
For a stronger chai flavor, let the concentrate steep longer. You can also experiment with different types of milk, such as almond, oat, or coconut milk for a unique twist.
